Is-sinjal għal IPOTEKA (MORTGAGE) għandha żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel, id waħda tieqaf forma ta’ 5 bil-pala tħares ’il fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ L bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa. Is-swaba’ tal-L jingħalqu u jinfetħu waqt li l-id tinżel u tolqot il-pala tal-id il-wieqfa xi darbtejn. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal għal DAR b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwi mill-għekiesi biex l-id tifforma angolu rett. Il-pala tal-id tħares ’l isfel. L-id titqiegħed fil-ġenb fil-livell tar-ras jew ftit iktar ’l isfel u s-swaba’ jħarsu lejn il-ġenb u l-id timxi ftit ’il quddiem fl-istess livell.
The sign for MORTGAGE has two parts. (i) First, one hand takes the shape of 5 with palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of L with palm facing inwards. The L fingers close and open whilst the hand moves down and hits the palm of the stationary hand twice or more. (ii) Then the sign for HOUSE is made with one hand in the shape of 5 bent at the knuckles such that it forms a right angle. The palm faces downwards. The hand is placed at the side of the head or further down, with the fingers pointing towards the side. The hand then moves forward a little at the same level.
